Doug has been practicing law in state and federal courts since 1975, focusing on issues in the law which affect families.

He brings the NFCRC his unique expertise from serving twenty-six years as a City Attorney and municipal prosecutor, and in private practice representing Michigan families in family courts.  Since 1991, Doug has represented clients in the US Supreme Court, Michigan Supreme Court, and lower federal and state appellate and district courts, successfully arguing a number of precedent setting cases.

Doug is a lifelong resident of Fenton, Michigan, where he has been active as the president and a board member of the Fenton Community Center, together with a number of local civic groups.  Doug has one son, Brennan, and alternates his time between Fenton and Sarasota, Florida.
